About Mesquite
Mesquite is one of the larger cities in our service area with most of its housing built from the 1950s through the 1980s. That means Mesquite homeowners are regularly dealing with aging galvanized supply pipe, cast-iron drain lines showing signs of corrosion, and sewer lines that may be original to the home. Galvanized pipe from this era restricts flow internally as it corrodes, and failures — when they come — can be sudden.
Mesquite sits on Dallas County's version of Blackland Prairie clay — dense, reactive, and present across almost all of the city's residential footprint. Slab leaks and offset sewer joints from ground movement are consistent service calls from across Mesquite's six ZIP codes. The Grand Prairie clay here is particularly expansive and generates some of the most dramatic slab movement we see in the metro.
Messquite's water comes from Dallas Water Utilities — moderately hard and typical for the region. Water heater sediment accumulation is accelerated here, and annual maintenance makes a meaningful difference in heater lifespan.
