About Garland
Garland is a large, established city with most of its housing built between the 1950s and 1980s. That means aging galvanized steel supply lines, cast-iron drain lines in older sections, and clay and Orangeburg sewer pipes that are well past their intended lifespan. Garland consistently generates some of our highest-volume slab leak and sewer line work — the Blackland Prairie clay here is reactive, and decades of seasonal movement take their toll on buried pipes.
The Lake Ray Hubbard shoreline along Garland's eastern edge adds soil moisture variation that accelerates pipe joint movement and corrosion. Neighborhoods in the 75043 and 75044 ZIPs near the lake are particularly active for sewer line and slab issues. Garland's water comes from the City of Dallas system — moderately hard, and reliable, but it leaves scale on water heaters and fixtures over time.
With multiple neighborhoods spread across a large footprint, Garland is a city where having a licensed plumber you can call 24/7 matters — and where delaying on a slow drain or a wet floor is usually more expensive than acting quickly.
