About Heath
Heath is one of the more distinctive communities in our service area — a low-density lakeside city on the south shore of Lake Ray Hubbard, known for large custom homes on estate lots and a median income well above the DFW average. Most Heath construction is post-1990, with a significant wave of custom builds in the 2000s and 2010s. These homes tend to have complex plumbing systems: multiple bathrooms, outdoor kitchens and pool plumbing, gas lines to multiple appliances, and in some cases well systems on larger acreage parcels.
Heath's clay soil is the same Blackland Prairie geology as Rockwall County overall — expansive and reactive to moisture change. Lake Ray Hubbard's proximity means the soil on shoreline properties sees more moisture variation, which puts additional stress on buried supply and sewer lines. Custom homes here often have longer supply runs and harder-to-access plumbing, which makes finding the right licensed plumber more important than in a standard subdivision.
Our Rockwall branch at 709 W Rusk Street is approximately 15 minutes from most Heath addresses.
